Hello, my name is Adam Patterson.

I'm a Ph.D student in philosophy at Syracuse University.

Before transferring to Syracuse, I earned an MA in philosophy from the University of Kentucky. Before Kentucky, I earned an MA in philosophy from Birkbeck College, University of London.

While I was at the University of Kentucky, I was primarily interested in the semantics and pragmatics of slurs and whether externalism is compatible with self-knowledge.

However, since arriving at Syracuse my interests have extended to include issues concerning the metaphysics and ethics of death.

On this site, you can find my CV and a way to reach me. For now, you will find any and all paper drafts of mine on my academia.edu page. (I still have not figured out an optimal way to present papers on this site).

In real life, you can find me and my parter Evelyn either outside doing fun things or inside drinking coffee while reading and/or writing.
